How to add additional IPs to Windows VPS?

When you receive additional IPs for your server, you have to configure your server to accept requests from them.

NOTE: First, you need config the main IP of your windows VPS manually instead of DHCP

  1. Log in to Remote Desktop.
  2. Go to Start->Run->run CMD command to open a dos windows->run command "ipconfig -all" to find out the Default Gateway, Subnet Mask IP of your main IP
  3. Go to Control Panel->Network Connections->Local Area Connection.
  4. Right-click on Properties.
  5. Select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP).
  6. Click Properties.
  7. Config the main IP with information of Setp 2 (for DNS , you can input 8.8.8.8 and 4.2.2.2)
  8. Click the OK button to close the Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) Properties window.
  9. Click the Close button to close out of the Local Area Connection Properties window.
  10. Wait for 15 seconds for network re-config and re-connect to the RDP

To Add additional IP Addresses to Your Dedicated Windows 2003 Server OR Windows 7,XP

  1. Log in to Remote Desktop.
  2. Go to Control Panel->Network Connections->Local Area Connection.
  3. Right-click on Properties.
  4. Select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP).
  5. Click Properties.
  6. Click Advanced.
  7. Click Add and add the new IP, with 255.255.255.0  (You should change this mask to yours)  as the subnet mask.
  8. Click the OK button to close the Advanced TCP/IP Settings window.
  9. Click the OK button to close the Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) Properties window.
  10. Click the Close button to close out of the Local Area Connection Properties window.

To Add additional IP Addresses to Your Dedicated Windows 2008 Server

  1. Log into your server via Remote Desktop.
  2. Open the server's Start menu and select Network.
  3. Double-click on the Network and Sharing Center icon.
  4. Click on the Change Adapter Settings link on the left.
  5. Right click on the icon representing your server's network card and select Properties from the menu that appears.
  6. Select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) and click the Properties button.
  7. Click the Advanced button.
  8. Click the Add button under the IP addresses section of the IP Settings tab.
  9. Enter the IP address and subnet mask 255.255.255.0  (You should change this mask to yours)  and click the Add button.
  10. Click the OK button to close the Advanced TCP/IP Settings window.
  11. Click the OK button to close the Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) Properties window.
  12. Click the Close button to close out of the Local Area Connection Properties window.

NOTE: IP address allocation is monitored. Attempting to add IP addresses to your server that have not been purchased is a violation of your terms of service agreement and may result in the suspension of your account.
